A Brief History of the Marque
Manufactured at Finkenstraße 52, Bielefeld
Karl Goebel's firm Goebel Fahrzeugfabrik produced some 30 different types of motorcycles and mopeds from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The firm acquired the Meister company in the mid-to-late 1950s, and with it the Mammut and presumably Phanomen brands.
Some of the models sold in this period were rebadged Meister mopeds, and the 1972 catalogue listed both the Goebel Mofa and the Meister Mofa.
Goebel used Lutz engines 1949-1952.
Karl Goebel died in 1974, and Schminke of Bad Wildungen purchased the company in 1975.
