A Brief History of the Marque
Manufactured 1923-1928
N.S.H. Motorradbau - Nöding & Söhne, Hersfeld
The firm built a variety of good quality machines, initially powered by 185cc and 198cc OHV engines from Paqué of Augsburg, and later fitted with JAP four-strokes and Villiers two-stroke engines, the latter including the 344cc in-line vertical twin made famous by Francis-Barnett and also used by Monet & Goyon, MT and La Mondiale.

Some 700 N.S.H. machines were hand-built to customer order using tubular steel frames and, from 1928, saddle tanks. Quite a number of these have survived including several owned by the Nöding family - examples include motorcycles powered by a 600cc MAG V-twin and a Sturmey-Archer 350cc single.
