WSK M06 125cc


WSK M06 1957

Wytwórnia Sprzętu Komunikacji in Świdnik, an aeronautical plant, starts the production of motorcycles in order to fully use its production capacity and bring more of these highly sought-after vehicles to the market. In 1954, an informative series of motorcycles with engines with a volume of 125cc was assembled from parts delivered from the Warsaw Motorcycle Factory. From February 1955, the production of motorcycles based on the WFM M06 documentation began. That year, 3,100 pieces were made. In the following years, production increased rapidly. In 1956, 15,000 motorcycles were made in Świdnik, and 25,000 in 1957. Simultaneously with the use of a new electrical system in WFM motorcycles in 1957, vehicles from Świdnik also received it. At that time, a 6 V battery with a capacity of 7 Ah was introduced, a selenium rectifier enabling it to be charged by a generator, an electromagnetic signal and parking lights. A speedometer with odometer is built into the top fork. The technical description below applies to the WSK M06 model from 1957.

Engine - Type SOI, spark ignition. Data as in the WFM M06 motorcycle.

Electrical System - Data as on WFM M06 with the following changes: Static ignition timing 27° B.C.M. (4.5 mm B.C.C.). Alternating current magneto generator with a power of 28 W, mounted on the right crankshaft pin. Selenium rectifier located in the front lamp. 6 V lead battery, 7 Ah capacity. A sound signal, disc, mounted under the seat, on the right side of the motorcycle.

WSK 125 (prototype)

In 1957, in the experimental department of Wytwornia Sprzetu Komunikacyjnego in Świdnik, a prototype of a new class 125 motorcycle was made. The design of this vehicle was also adapted to engines with a larger displacement. The creators of the motorcycle were engineers: Krzeszowice, Okrąglak, Szymański and Wierciński. The SOI engine used in the motorcycle had slightly more power thanks to the new exhaust system. The new tubular frame was stiffer than the previous one, and at the same time 30% lighter. A new front fork with oil damping and full-hub brake drums made of light alloy are used. Deep mudguards, a new headlamp with a built-in speedometer, a high two-level seat and an overhead exhaust system radically changed the silhouette of the motorcycle. WSK M06-Z

The Design Office of Wytwornia Sprzetu Komunikacyjnego in Świdnik has developed a modernized, more luxurious version of the M06 motorcycle. The new model was marked with the symbol M06-Z. The design changes were aimed at improving the traction properties of the vehicle and increasing driving comfort. The motorcycle uses an SOI-Z engine with an increased power of 4.4 kW (6 HP), the production of which was launched by Zakłady Metalowe in Nowa Dęba. The design of this engine was developed by Eng. Eng. W. Wiatrak and St. Jarnuszkiewicz. The front fork design has been redesigned with oil damping, battery covers and a taller split-level bench seat. New full-hub brakes, with an increased diameter, have increased driving safety. Serial production of the WSK M06-Z model began in 1959.

Engine - type S01-Z, with spark ignition. Data as on the WSK M06 motorcycle, with the following changes: Compression ratio 6.9. Maximum power 4.4 kW (6 hp) at 4800 rpm. Maximum torque 10.8 Nm (1.1 kGm) at 3500 rpm.

Power supply: horizontal carburettor, type G20, with a throat diameter of 20 mm. Dry weight of engine with accessories and gearbox 21 kg.

Electrical System - Data as for WSK M06 motorcycle with the following changes: Static ignition timing 30° before TDC (3.0 mm before TDC). Spark plug, M14X1.24 thread, 225 calorific value (Bosch). A sound signal, disc mounted on the front fork under the headlight.

Leg system - Data as in the WSK M06 motorcycle, with the following changes: Passenger footrest brackets welded to the rear part of the frame. Front wheel suspension on telescopic fork, with oil damping. Front wheel travel 160 mm, rear wheel travel 83 mm.

WSK Sarenka (prototype)

Constructors from the Communication Equipment Factory in Świdnik, under the direction of Eng. Koś, developed in 1960 a new model of a popular motorcycle. According to the assumptions, it was to be a vehicle with a higher driving comfort than the previous models, while maintaining the lowest possible production costs. It contains many innovative solutions. An interesting design was the lightweight back frame, welded from pressed metal stampings, and the rear wheel suspension with a single central spring element built inside the frame. The mudguards and the fuel tank were made as pressed metal stampings, divided in the plane of symmetry and with rolled edges, which were covered with rubber covers after welding. A prototype engine, developed in Zakłady Metalowe in Nowa Dęba, was used in Sarence. This engine developed a power of 5,

Engine - spark ignition, two-stroke, with backwash, mounted in two points in the motorcycle frame. Number of cylinders l. Engine displacement 125cc litre. Maximum power 5.1 kW (7 hp) at 5000 rpm. Rear wheel drive output on the right side of the vehicle. Transmission of the drive to the rear wheel with a single-row chain.

Carrying system - Ridge frame, welded from sheet steel stampings. Two ball bearings embedded in the head tube. Front wheel suspension on telescopic fork, with oil damping. Body - Deep mudguards, pressed from sheet steel. The front mudguard is attached to the movable part of the fork. Fuel tank welded from sheet steel stampings. Sofa saddle, double, with extra. two coil springs. Toolbox placed under the saddle. Sheet steel side covers to protect the carburetor, air filter and battery. Riders's footrests with rubber pads. Passenger footrests fold up, attached to the rear swingarm. Full chain guard, attached to the rear swingarm. Lower exhaust system, located on the left side of the motorcycle.
