The Pre-War Jawa's

Few people seem to know that JAWA were building speedway machines long before the war. This is the 1934/35 speedway machine (Right)* that had a 500cc 2-valve OHV engine.

Later, in 1937, G.W. Patchett designed this JAWA single cylinder SOHC 2-valve machine. Note the front and rear suspension units to this machine that was manufactured for both Speedway and Grasstrack.

Production still continued during the War-years as this 1940 - 43 machine shows. This particular model had a DOHC 2valve Blown Twin Cylinder engine and had been designed by Jan Krivkr and Vincenz Sklenre.
