Cressy Motorcycles Tasmania

Built by Harry Whatley of Main St, Cressy (near Launceston), Tasmania during the WWI years, 1914-1918. Initially powered by JAP, later models used Precision singles. It is likely that the machines were built by Healing and then rebadged.

Fred Keefe took over the business in 1915, and later sold it back to Whatley.

Howard Burrows, who owns a Cressy Precision, says that at least three machines were built - in 1915, 1917 and 1919 - one of which was registered as a Cressy JAP.

Whatley had a second shop in Longford, cnr Marlborough and High Street, which has an historical plaque stating "Est. 1914". The Cressy shop survived until shortly after October 2025, when it was demolished.
