Firefly Motorcycles

Manufactured in 1905 by H. H. Whale of Firefly Cycle Works. H. Hulford Whale was a cycle builder from c.1905 to 1932 in Burwood and Petersham. The motorcycle was fitted with a 2¾ h. p. Sarolea engine.

Entrants in the Dunlop Reliability Motor Contest from Sydney to Melbourne next week.

Whale finished the race but was well down in the points table.

There appears to be some relationship with the Mumford marque of Krambach, a tiny village near Nabiac NSW. The village has a large area nearby called "Firefly", and lies on a river of that name.
