Moller Motorcycles

Built by F. Möller, 199, Rundle Street Adelaide (Factory in Pirie St).

Newspaper reports indicate that possibly only one was built for the personal use of Moller; however Saward gives dates of 1904 to 1906, and states that 2¾ hp Minerva and 3½ hp MMC engines were fitted.

MR. F. MOLLER

has a M.M.C. motor cycle of 2¾ to 3½ horsepower, specially built for his own use by picked workmen. It is beautifully finished [and] contains every modern improvement, a petrol tank for 100 miles, with an additional one slung at the back diagonal stay for another 60 miles' ride. The petrol is siphoned into the smaller tank by air pressure by [means] of the ordinary cycle pump. A two-way switch is fixed on to the top-stay. The accumulators are EIC., Bowden back and front rim brakes, a special exhaust valve lifter with a trigger like that of a rifle, which enables anybody to control the machine to a walking pace in traffic and cool the machine on long hills, without extra exertion. There are mechanically operated valves, latest carburettor, and everything is beautifully finished and shod with colonial Atlas tires. ...

MR. F. MOLLER.

At Mr. F. Mollers stand, the well-known cycle dealer, of 199, Rundle-street, is a fine 2 ¾ -h.p. motor-cycle, manufactured by the M.M.C. Co., whose motors have taken a foremost position in Great Britain. It has a long wheel base, and with a large petrol holder an additional tank is affixed, which, by means of the ordinary inflator pumps over its supply as required, giving a 160-mile tank capacity. The specialty of this machine was the exhaust trigger which, fashioned like an ordinary gun-trigger, relieves or establishes the exhaust instantly. As the control is fixed on the handlebar this is one of the most easily controlled machines for street traffic in the market. A few samples of the well-known New Howe cycles for ladies and gentlemen, also the Royal Seidel and Naumann, Perry, and other makes of cycles, for whom Mr. Moller is the agent, were also shown. Each machine is shod with the celebrated Atlas tires and World makes. Altogether this was a very creditable exhibit.
