Beta XTR

R50 1966 (US Catalog)

Here's the machine that's equally at home touring the country- side, on a quick trip to the store or for commuting to school. The R-50 is as easy as riding a bicycle, yet powerful enough to cruise all day at more than 45 mph. Surprising acceleration from 3.5 HP on tap through the three-speed transmission. And, you'll never miss a shift with the simple, one-lever shift-clutch control on the handlebar. Featherweight, nimble handling makes the R-50 a real winner with people who want big fun at low cost. Step-thru tubular frame is the answer to a maiden's prayer. Leg protection guard (not shown in photo), folding passenger foot rests, fully-equipped tool kit, spare spark plug and instruction manual are all standard equipment. Colors: metallic blue or red.

XTR-80

Watch out for this one! It can change from a quiet picnic partner to the terror of the scrambles course in nothing flat! Here's the obvious answer to high performance, extra power without the heavier weight found in comparably-sized machines. The spirited 7 HP, high torque engine is made to stand up to any tests. Yet its flexibility at low rpm gives even a novice an easy, stable ride. On the highway, you can breeze along at f more than 58 mph. The XTR-80's firm front forks give the precise handling and smooth ride that even many higher priced makes can't provide. Four minutes is all it takes to change from road to trail sprockets with the tools furnished. Tires and colors: same as XTR-50.

XTR-125

Race proven for dependability in stiff, international competi- tion. Here are the wheels for those who like their action quick and lively! The XTR-125's smooth 125cc engine, fed by a big 22mm competition carburetor, delivers speeds up to 68 mph with road gearing, or about 50 with trail sprockets. Peak 11 HP performance is developed at only 5800 rpm which means lowest wear rate and maintenance factors. The Moto-Beta's tough tubular frame design cuts weight for maximum performance and minimum engine stress. With two aboard, the deep hydrau- lic shock absorbers, front and rear, big 19-inch tires and positive engine response get you where you're going with comfort and economy. Standard equipment includes quiet, spark-free up- swept exhaust, waterproof air filter, semi-knobby 2.50 x 19 tires, front and rear, battery-powered lights and horn, tool kit, trail sprocket and spare spark plug. Colors: black, metallic blue or red, all with silver two-tone custom pin striping.
