The Gillet E51 scooter was the result of a long relationship with Bernardet who had supplied their sidecars for military combinations in earlier years.
Rather than develop their own, Gillet opted to rebrand the elegant French machines and market them as their own. The scooter market was, however, somewhat swamped, and sales were not forthcoming.
The last of these were sold in 1956, and very few have survived.
