Chiorda Motorcycles and Mopeds

A Brief History of the Marque

Built in Via Palma il Vecchio, Bergamo, 1952-1957, and later in Cisterna di Latina (50km S. of Rome), c.1968-1972.

Trapletti brothers built bicycles, motorcycles and mopeds. At the 1954 at the Salone di Milano they presented a 100cc four-stroke parallel twin, and in 1957 they revealed a 48cc moped named the Arlecchino.

The firm was acquired by the Bianchi family, who produced 50cc models under the Chiorda name until 1972.

    1957 Arlecchino (Harlequin) moped, 3-speed 48cc OHV Somaschini engine, moped, telescopic forks, 200x18" wheels

    1962-1963 3-speed two-stroke 48cc Super Sport

    1970 Chiorda SS Mirage 50cc Franco Morini

    1971 Commando 50cc Franco Morini

    1971 GT

    1969-72 Chiorda MO Gyromat Piro-Piro 49cc Franco Morini. Folding minibike.

    c.1971 Commando Cross, 50cc Franco Morini Turbo Star 5m engine.

    c.1971 Vallelunga 50cc - Franco Morini Turbo Star 5m engine. Sporting model with substantial front brake, long tank and solo seat.

Info regarding the motor question: I got one standing in my yard that I'm about to restore --- with a Franco Morini Motori motor!
You wouldn't happen to know where to get the seat, would you? :-)

    Finding a good used seat would not be easy. Best bet is to restore the existing one.
