Betty and Nancy Debenham, with their dog, Poncho, were keen motorcyclists. Nancy won a Gold Medal at Brooklands in 1926.

A Brief History of the Marque
Manufactured by Manufrance, St Etienne
Established in 1885, Manufrance was France's first mail order company, with an annual catalogue known as la Manu which offered a wide range of products, the most famous being firearms, bicycles and sewing machines. After the second war the company introduced cyclemotors and mopeds, with some success.
Engines included a 332cc sidevalve which was fitted to the 1914 Hirondelle, another brand built and marketed by Manufrance.
Manufrance built Rupta motorcycles under licence, and also Mimosa BMA's.
