Motocicletas Elig

Motocicletas Elig, 39 Marqués de Asprillas, Elche (near Alicante), built by Candela Mas Francisco, 1953-1966.

Francisco opened a workshop in Elche in early 1942 to repair and build footwear machinery. He began to enter motorcycle competitions and achieve many victories and podium finishes.

Built motorcycles using 123cc and 198cc two-stroke Hispano Villiers engines, and mopeds fitted with the M60 Mosquito.

In mid-1955 an new model was presented with updated front fork and swing-arm rear suspension. It remained in production until 1966, when the Hispano Villiers engines became unavailable.

In total, some 650 machines were produced.
