Henry Bottin Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured: Henry Bottin (H. Bottin)

70cc Lavalette. The manufacturer plate is titled "H.B." on an image at antiquites-brocante.fr. The machine has no pedals and is thus a velomoteur. There was a listing of a restored 1956 3-speed Lavalette machine on a French sales site.

An advertisement in Cyclomoteur magazine, August 1953, speaks of Bottin du Cycle, 1, rue Sebastien Bottin, Paris. The firm appears to be for retail sales, not manufacture.

"accrochera" au moment favorable tous vos clients en puissance, fera connaitre votre maison et les articles que vous vendez. augmentera votre chiffre d'affaires. (will "hook" all your customers at the right time in power, will make your house known and the items you sell. will increase your turnover.)

N.B. moto-scooter-annee50-60.over-blog.com lists " Le BOTIN de Cagnes sur mer" (Note single T. This name appears on several French pages.) "Bottin" translates as "Directory", making research tricky.
