The Super Squirrel had entered the Scott catalogue in 1924 and would remain a feature of the range until the hiatus of 1931. In its original form it was offered with either the 596cc engine or the 498cc unit, coded Y and Z to the engine number respectively. The two speed version was joined by a three speed variant in 1927, although the lighter two speed remained the more popular resulting in the three speed exiting the lists for the 1929 season.
This two speed, 498cc, example dates from 1928 and is offered in dismantled condition with much of the restoration work carried out including the engine, which was rebuilt by Ken Lack and a set of rebuilt wheels. The Swansea V5 supplied with the motorcycle shows a different frame number and a quantity of paperwork, including receipts and Scott Club literature accompany it.
