Minimo Folding Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured by Poppe und Sohn, Kiel (100km N. of Hamburg) beginning in mid-1968, it was later built as the Joky by Nordguss in Bad Oldesloe, and from 1974 to 1987 as the Minimo-Joky by Siegfried Thurmann of Winsen.

Willi Poppe was the owner of a foundry in Kiel. Keen on watersports, he developed the minibike for boat owners to give them transportation when in port. Powered by JLO engines of 34 and 47cc, the folding minibike proved quite popular, and was even used, it is claimed, by glider pilots so that they could ride to the nearest phonebox after outlanding. A Trump supporter would probably believe this.
