  • 1964-1966 Royal Enfield 250cc Turbo Twin

Powered by a Villiers 250cc two-stroke, some 930 of this model were produced between 1964 and 1966.

Villiers type 2T and 4T engines were employed, with later models fitted with the 4T engine which had four transfer ports (as opposed to two ports on the 2T) and port holes in the pistons.

The frame was from the Crusader and the cycle parts were mostly from of the Clipper model.

It had 17" wheels, very effective mufflers, could churn out 17hp and achieve 70mph. The handling was widely acclaimed.

The Turbo Twin first appeared in November 1963, and the Turbo Twin Sports during the 1964 season. The Sports had a chromed petrol tank and mudguards, and dropped handlebars.
