The world's motor bicycle record breaker, Harry Martin, driving his 2 ¾ h.p. Excelsior at full speed on the Canning Town track. His mile time from a standing start was
lm. 24 4/5 s., and his eleven and twelve miles times were 14m. 36½s. and 15m. 58s. respectively, also from a standing start. His machine is a motor bicycle and not
a monstrosity, as are so many record-breaking instruments.
