Theresa borrowed a Norton Inter from famed Norton tuner Francis Beart. In the pouring rain, so the story goes, she took it out a cracked the ton at Brooklands, thus become one of the select few to be awarded the Gold Star, joining Tilly Shilling and Florence Blenkiron as the only women to ever do so.
