To Motorise Your Bicycle
The Cucciolo (little pup) an ingenious, Italian auxiliary motor unit for pedal cycles (shown here) is being marketed in Melbourne by Stewart's Motor Cycles.
The whole outfit, which is easily attached to any pedal cycle, costs only £43 10/. It Is extremely versatile. The engine is a 4-stroke, O.H.V., 48 c.c., with a detachable head, light alloy piston, two-jet automatic carburettor, metal plates oil-immersed clutch and two-speed gears with automatic preselection and neutral.
Rated at 0.8 bhp, the Cucciolo is said to develop 1 1/4 h.p. at 5200 r.p.m. This gives a cruising speed of 18 m.p.h. and uphill riding up to one in five, according to the back wheel sprocket ratio.
Petrol should not be much of a problem. The agents claim 250 m.p.g., so the 3 1/2-pint tank clipped to the frame behind the saddle should carry sufficient for quite a few miles.

1933 Scott at Stillwell and Parry's

"Judging by the flow of inquiries that have been made regarding the recently landed 1933 498 cc. Scott Tourer," said Mr. J. Stewart, sales manager of Stillwell and Parry, this week, "this new model should have a splendid market."

The new Scott has several most impressive new features, the appearance having been improved by the fitting of larger petrol tanks. Mr. Stewart Bruce, accessory manager of this firm, stated that several customers had mentioned their satisfaction with the shockstop rubber buffers which the firm was selling. These buffers prevent the enamel from chipping from number-plates.
