Laverda entered the scooter market in an attempt to compete with Vespa and Lambretta. Designed in 1959, production began in 1960 of a solo model powered an OHV 48.9cc four-stroke engine fitted with a cast iron barrel and an alloy cylinder head which delivered power to the rear wheel via a two-speed gearbox. It had a flywheel magneto and a Dell'Orto carburettor, with the 4 litre petrol tank stationed below the solo saddle. In 1962 new models were offered powered by 50 and 60cc engines, along with a three-speed gearbox and a larger seat.
This machine was sold in Spain as the Montesa Microscooter.
Specification: Engine: 49cc, 1.3hp at 4,500rpm. Weight: 50kg. Max speed: 40km/h.
