Laverda 668

1997 668

With a aluminium perimeter frame designed by Nico Bakker Nico Bakker in 1992 the 650/668 (they were all 668cc) first entered production in 1994. The 'Ghost' naked model used a conventional tube frame instead as did various Diamante & Strike models. The engine was a development of that which first appeared in the 500cc Alpino in 1977. Most noticeably the heads were now oil cooled. These 1992-2000 Laverdas are known as the Zane models, the name of the town some 10 km east of Breganze where they were produced by Francesco Tognon after the collapse of the Zanini group which took over the original Laverda company.
