6 h.p. Zenith-Gradua showing new tool case, mudshield, and long exhaust pipe extended to rear hub.
Zenith new pattern rear brake, the whole length of which engages with the belt rim.
A large array of Zenith-Gradua machines is shown on this stand together with some examples of standard machines converted to this clever type of variable gear. As a full description of the Zenith-Gradua machines has recently appeared in The Motor Cycle it is unnecessary to enter into lengthy details except to say that the gear at the pulley end has been made much neater and now entirely weatherproof.
Another clever detail is the introduction of a parallel motion footbrake on the belt rim which is notable for the very large leverage which is employed, making it in consequence a powerful brake requiring only a gentle application. A foot-operated cut-out has also been fitted to the silencer, and a very neat form of toolbag which embraces also a case for spare inner tubes is now fitted pannier fashion at the side of and underneath the luggage carrier. The magneto is also well guarded with a neat shield. A slight alteration has been made in the magneto drive, which is now by closed chain instead of previously used gears.
The twin-cylinder machine is constructed to the same specification as the above, excepting with regard to the engine, which is a J.A.P. with 76 x 85 mm. bore stroke, and with side by side valves. A Tourist trophy model with a round petrol tank is exhibited for the first time.
