Photographed in Nelson at New Zealand Classic Motorcycles

This 1939 example of the 990cc Model 2 represents the last of the type before the Second World War required a shift to military production. It was restored in the 1960s in NZ by George Light and the engine and gearbox were extensively overhauled in 2000 by a subsequent owner, who purchased it in 1999. When purchased from New Plymouth for the NZ Classic Motorcycles collection in November, 2009, its odometer read 10,934 miles and it had travelled less than 2,000 miles since the engine overhaul. As a fully road-legal combination, it has participated in many of the country's vintage motorcycle rallies and has been used as a workshop runabout by NZ Classic Motorcycles.
