Mototrans Ducati 250 Deluxe

Year of presentation : 1962

Years of manufacture : 1963-1972

Engine : 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled - bore x stroke 69 x 66 mm - total displacement 246.7 cc - compression ratio 8:1 - overhead camshaft and kingpin with conical cylinder head and two valves - wet sump with pump - Dell'Orto UB 24 or Amal 376/25 carburettor - multi-disc wet clutch - 4-speed gearbox - primary drive by gears - secondary drive by chain. Developed in Spain with nearly square dimensions, this engine allowed for a sportier character due to its higher available RPM. The engine for the 24 H model was based on this engine.

Chassis : tubular steel frame - telescopic hydraulic front fork - swingarm rear fork with 2 hydraulic shock absorbers - Ø 180 mm drum front brake - Ø 160 mm drum rear brake - 2.75 x 18" front tyre - 2.75 x 18" rear tyre

Dimensions: wheelbase 1320 mm - dry weight 110 kg - fuel tank 18 litres.

Electrical system: The lighting is battery-powered, and the battery is recharged by a MOTOPLAT alternator via a rectifier.

Performance : 20 HP at 7000 rpm - maximum speed 130 km/h in normal position - fuel consumption 3 litres/100 km.

Colour scheme: metallic silver paint for the headlight, sidecovers (which in this model cover the battery and include an air filter), mudguards, sides of the tank and blue for the rest; it has fine red pinstriping on the tank and on the sidecovers.

Versions: Several versions of this model were manufactured; some had a less valanced mudguard, like those fitted to the Sport models (Elite and 125), and clip-on handlebars instead of standard bars. In 1973, a model was produced with the five-speed narrow crankcase engine from the Road and 24 Horas; it had the same colour scheme as the Elite and the 175 TS, with cherry red and dark gold as the main colours. In 1971, five units were exported to the UK with a black finish and silver trim.
