Aprilia ET50 1983-1987
The first of the ET50 50cc enduro series arrived on the market in late 1983. With white bodywork, red, blue and black highlights, and a navy blue seat cover, it was a handsomely presented machine and very attractive to its intended market, fourteen-year-olds.
Features include full instrumentation including a tachometer, modern electrical system, 118mm drum brakes front and rear, and Marzocchi monoshock rear suspension.
The machine is powered by an air and water-cooled four-speed Minarelli P4R MCS engine.
Aprilia ET 50 1985
The ET 50 '85 arrived in mid-1984 and was in the catalogue for the next 18 months or so.
Colour schemes available were white with a red seat cover or red with a blue seat, and was immediately distinguished from the earlier model by the disc front brake. It was fitted with the latest Minarelli engine, the RV4, which remained in use by Aprilia until 1991.
Additionally, the new ET 50 had a red frame and more detailed instrumentation.
Aprilia ET 50 1986
The '86 50cc ET has new bodywork, with similar appearance to the Tuareg model. Colours available are black with a red seat, or white with a red seat; both had red frames.
The instrumentation is much same as the '85, with the addition of a water temperature gauge The 32mm forks have different colored fork sliders and and gaiters, with the the front suspension of the Tuareg adopted during the model run. It also has a new exhaust system and airbox, with the most obvious change being brass-plated rims.
Optionally the 1986 version could be ordered with electric start and rear disc brake, and came with a different electrical system and rear wheel.
Aprilia ET 50 Fire 1987
With fresh colour schemes of red with a blue seat cover and white frame, or black with a red seat and white frame, the '87 ET is largely unchanged from the '86 with the exception of the sidecovers and fresh instrumentation inherited from the ETX. It also has a new expansion chamber.
