At the age of 12 Bruno Rossati began working eleven hour days.
"Now, approaching 91, I find myself reminiscing about my youth, still riding my motorcycle every day.
Letter re Ladetto
It appeared at the end of the war, in 1945. It was an economical, robust model with reliable mechanics. The engine, a 125cc single-cylinder four-stroke with side valves, was directly derived from the 100cc model published in the 1939 catalogue. On the first model, the D45A, the front suspension was a parallelogram, there was no rear suspension... it was the saddle that was responsible for absorbing road imperfections. The gearbox was a three-speed with a control lever placed at the front right of the tank.
With the following model, the rear suspension appeared, then a telescopic front fork. On the D45S model, the throttle control was finally a twist grip and, supreme refinement, the handlebar was fitted with a button for the horn!
The D45 was produced by Motobécane and Motoconfort (sous l'appellation B1) (under the name B1) until 1954.
This 1952 Motobécane D45S was restored by alain.salou.motos at orange.fr Alain .
Here is the summary of this restoration:
The motorcycle was purchased at the beginning of December 2000. The condition of presentation is acceptable, the mechanics: running, but without power.
