THE FAMOUS JAMES No. D8 247 c.c. SUPER-SPORTS DE-LUXE TWO-STROKE

The "James" Model D8 247 c.c. Two-Stroke Machine is the largest of the Famous "James" Lightweight range. The Engine is capable of giving a good average speed with a large reserve of power for hill climbing, while the Machine cannot be tired by continuous heavy running, and in addition it will keep its tune over an indefinite period. The specification is comprehensive and all details and equipment are of the highest grade. We particularly call attention to the specification and general finish of this Machine, which in every way conforms to the high standard of "James" practice. The general ensemble of the Machine is pleasing and with the Patented construction of Frame we can recommend the Machine for those riders who prefer a Two-Stroke Engine, with every confidence.

ENGINE "Villiers" 247 c.c. S-S 67 mm. bore x 70 mm.

IGNITION "Villiers" flywheel magneto.

CARBURETTER "Villiers" two-lever.

LUBRICATION Improved automatic, separate oil tank.

SILENCERS Twin exhaust pipes and large expansion chambers and fishtails.

GEAR BOX Three-speed, with side tank control.

CLUTCH Two-plate inserted segments. Handlebar control.

TRANSMISSION Roller chain.

BRAKES Very powerful. Internal expanding fabric lined, with weather protectors.

FRAME "Baker" patented duplex construction, built with best quality high carbon straight steel tubes.

FORK "Baker" brazeless blades. Well triangulated for strength, vertical spring suspension and fitted with shock absorbers.

HANDLEBAR Adjustable sports type, rubber grips.

WHEELS 25 in. well section rims, heavy spokes.

TYRES "Goodyear" 25 x 3 in. W.O.

STAND Central prop type, enabling front or rear wheels to be raised from the ground.

FOOTRESTS Adjustable, round rubber.

MUDGUARDS Wide, dome ribbed section.

TANK Patent welded steel saddle type, large capacity, finished nickel chrome, blue panel, lined gold.

SADDLE Terry flexible spring seat.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT Direct electric lighting, large head lamp, rear lamp and parking light.

GENERAL EQUIPMENT Tool box, tool kit, tyre inflater and oil gun.
