THE FAMOUS JAMES No. D5 250 c.c. TWO-PORT O.H.V. SUPER-SPORTS MODEL

The "James" No. D5 250 c.c. Two Port O.H.V. Model is designed to meet the demand of the experienced motor-cyclist who desires a machine which includes all those features of advanced practice which have proved their reliability and efficiency. The engine is an improved 250 c.c., having ball and roller bearings throughout, enclosed overhead rocker gear and an efficient and silent valve gear. Automatic dry sump lubrication is provided, and this together with other unique features of construction employed is conducive to the production of a powerful and lively unit of relatively small capacity which may be relied upon to retain its liveliness over long periods.

ENGINE "James" design and manufacture, 64 X 77.5 mm., 249 c.c.

CARBURETTER " Amal" twist grip control.

LUBRICATION Automatic dry sump.

SILENCERS Efficient design, with large expansion chambers, with baffle plates and fishtails.

GEAR BOX Three-speed, with multi-plate clutch, handlebar control.

TRANSMISSION Roller chains.

BRAKES Powerful internal expanding front and rear, fabric lined. Front, hand controlled ; rear, by pedal.

FOOTRESTS Adjustable for position, large rubber pads.

STAND Improved type positive clip.

FRAME "James" low built, perfect steering, low saddle position.

FORK "James" pattern, with shock absorbers, adjustable for wear, easy and safe steering.

HANDLEBAR Adjustable sports type, rigid attachment, rubber grips.

WHEELS 25 in. diameter, well section rims, heavy spokes.

TYRES "Goodyear" 25 x 3 in. W.O.

MUDGUARDS Wide and well stayed, deep domed car section front and rear.

TANKS Patent welded steel, saddle type, large capacity.

Finished in nickel chrome, blue panel, gold lined. Separate oil tank.

SADDLE Terry multi-spring seat.

ELECTRICAL Maglita lighting set, large head lamp, double EQUIPMENT dimmer and tail lamp.

GENERAL EQUIPMENT Tool box, tool kit, tyre inflater, horn and licence holder.

FINISH Brilliant black enamel on rustproofed surface, nickel chrome finish to bright parts throughout. Small details Cadmium rustless finish.
