Comments: Very entertaining. Bought back a lot of memories. The pages about a Vincent motor caused a few arguments. Local diehard Vin. owners deny it existed regardless of the tappet adjuster cover nots which are Vincent style. If you have any info to confirm authenticity I could win a few pints.

Comments: What a magnificent site,I found it by pure accident.I used to ride one of these so called beasts when speedway was an art.I rode a J.A.P 6-stud on a Mattingley frame,upward facing handlebars and a one piece chromium exhaust, no silencer no dirt guard and certainly no team of tuners with us. We just had a basic frame none of this padding or sponsorship the riders of today have. We didnt just have oil we had castrol R which emitted an unforgettable aroma. We filled our tank with methanol and we used to fill the oil pump which had a hose inches from the track where it would run through,lasting if memory serves for about two races. I dont think the bikes of today are any quicker than ours were,the introduction of the Jawa spelled the beginning of the end for the J.A.P engine. I learned to ride at Rye House training track when it was just that.Len silver who was manager at Hackney introduced regular training sessions for up and coming riders.Those were the days when riders used to help each other and respect ran high.Tools borrowed and freely lent. Bill Kitchen one of the old time Wembley "Lions" used to tune my bikes from the rear of his motor spares shop in Harrow, Middlesex. Ronnie Moore, a forgotten world champion once told me I would know when it was time to stop, he said I would feel a switch go off in the back of my brain sure enough he was right and I retired in 1972. Since then I have had 2 strokes, become epileptic, lost a lung and have emphysema. After all this and all these years later if you were to ask me if I were able to ride 1 more time would I ? The answer is "Yes" like a shot, I've lost my health but never the need for speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments: Thanks for what I believe is the most imformative site on the Web for someone to learn about speedway machines. I like the new page on Jawa model identification. I have one suggestion: On the main workshop page, put dates that the various pages were last updated. That way when a regular visitor surfs in, he can see if any info has been added since his last visit. I see the site now has classified ads. A great idea and benefit to the speedway community.

Comments: Looks pretty good so far.I'd like to see maybe a page on interchangeabillty between the modern speedway bikes.Like what parts would work from a Jawa uprite to say a Weslake(maybe clutches interchange or ignition boxes) something like that.I'm new to speedy racing and hope to start soon.Information is not easy to come by inless your in with the speedway crowd.

Building a junior bike for my 8 yr. old son, based on the Robin 4 as it is very similar to what I have been working on, so a view of a similar finished machine was super handy. 14 yr. old son races jnrs. with a full size frame.

Comments: Excellent web site brings back lots of memories, particularly of Clarrie Miers and his son Allan. Raced speedway against Allan at the Ekka and Ipswich. Remember also Clarries side car engine a MSM built on a Harley Davidson bottom end that went quite well.
