This picture* is of the first complete Weslake machine and was kindly sent to me (as indeed many other images included in this site) by Ben Ludolphy.
On this very early Weslake you see the black coloured cylinder, the round cover for the CB points and the Y, shaped oil tube on top of the cylinder head.
The oil tube is mounted on the right side, on later types on the left side.
