Orix
Juan Ramirez Montpéo ran a mechanical workshop in Barcelona where he developed an air-cooled four-stroke flat-twin engine of 610 cc (72x75 mm) to compete with BMW-powered machines.
These engines were fitted to four-wheeled cars, of which 12 were constructed in the years 1952 to 1954.
Prior to this he was well-known as a tuner of racing machines, and raced a Norton International himself. He also built a tilting sidecar, no doubt influenced by the work of his grandfather who had constructed sidecars in the 1920s.
