Monet & Goyon D Series 98cc Villiers

Monet & Goyon D1 Dame & D2 Dame

(KE models KD1 and KD2)

Produced between 1937 and 1939, both were fitted with MG 98cc Villiers M1S engines, the D2 with a 2-speed version.

These Elegant BMA machines had a large chrome-plated fuel tank which provided the rider with additional protection from road grime and oil spray. Further protection was provided on the Luxe model which had a deeply valanced front guard.

Specifications - chain drive to the rear wheel, parallelogram fork, rigid rear end, drum brakes front and rear, 600 x 55 or 600 x 60 tyres.

Standard equipment included headlight and mirror.

Options available included main stand, luggage rack, enamelled tank and mudguards in non-standard colours, and chrome mudguards.

D2L

The D2L replaced the D2, and was available from January 1940 until the end of that year.

Fitted with a Villiers type T41 engine, it had a 2-speed gearbox with kickstarter and was finished in pearl gray enamel. Options including chrome guards were the same as for the D2.

D3

The D3 was presented in 1939 and continued in production until 1942.

Specification was the same as the S3L, but with an open frame. It had extra rider protection, a deeply valanced front guard, 600 x 60 tyres, and a 3-speed gearbox with kickstarter.

The D3 had a very tasteful colour scheme in pearl gray enamel with chrome highlights.
