Villiers Type 10D
The first models were fitted with a 3-speed gearbox with foot selector. Engine crankcase consists of two half casings with a vertical split. The cylinder has two transfer ports and is made of cast iron, and the cylinder head is made of light aluminium alloy. The electronic ignition is a SAFI SSY magneto flywheel, and the clutch is disc. Primary transmission is by chain.
Specification
Monet-Goyon engines were fitted to Koehler Escoffier motorcycles which were built in the same Mâcon factory.
Prior to building Villiers engines themselves, they imported numerous models from the English factory. These included the Villiers 350 MKVIIIB engine which was fitted to the RC4C of 1927, which in 1929 used the Villiers MK IXB with flywheel magneto. The same engine was fitted to the type B (1928), type BF (1929), type BS (1930) and type BS2 (1931).
The firm also employed MAG powerplants.
