The 250cc supercharged single was initially developed for record-breaking attempts, only later being used for racing. A number of records were duly set in late 1938 at Monza. Nello Pagani finished 3rd in the Milano-Taranto race as well as winning the 250 national championship that year as well. Depending on whether regular or methanol fuel was used the engine produced 38 or 48hp at 7,500rpm. Top speed was over 200kph. Photographed in Northern Italy. 2011.
