Moto-Guzzi V11 Le Mans

Moto Guzzi V11 Le Mans 2002

Press Release for V11 Le Mans

This new model in the Guzzi VII motorcycle series has numerous improvements. The V11 Le Mans features new seductive lines and precision steering and handling.

Perfectly at ease along the most winding of mountain roads, the V11 Le Mans is also an object of desire when perfectly at rest, as reflected in the most exclusive of showroom windows.

The VII Le Mans model possesses a strongly evocative name. Not only the endurance-motor racing of myth, unique in its genre, but' also the Guzzi 850 and 1000 "Le Mans" Motorcycles, ground breaking legendary bikes which remain close to the hearts of all fans

.And the legend continues...

Power to Spare: the legendary V-Twin

;The 90ø V twin not only represents a distinctive chapter in the entire history of the motorcycles: it is continually a "work in progress," a unit that through the years has progressively attained higher and higher standards in performance and legendary reliability.

The V11s adopts the latest fuel injected version, with 1064cc capacity and two overhead valves, controlled by easy to maintain rocker arms and push rods.

The numbers speak clearly: with 91 HP horsepower at 7,800 rpm and in impressive 94 Newton-metres of torque, for acceleration that satisfies even the most demanding riders.

The new 6-speed transmission has reduced dimensions; thanks to the exclusive formula one based "four-shaft" system. It features easy and quiet engagement, for immediate sensitivity and confidence.

The clutch is dry dual-disc, with hydraulic operation to improve feel and reduce the lever effort.

The rigid steel chassis is a classic, rectangular-section monobeam, with the engine as a stressed member and featuring a new lower trellis to further improve rigidity.

The front suspension is high-tech, Marzocchi "Up Side Down" forks, having 120 mm travel and individual compression / rebound adjustment.

The rear suspension is a "cantilever" system, with fully adjustable multistage shock absorber. In other words: absolute stability and impeccable road grip, thanks also to the distinctive configuration of the parallelogram mounted universal joint final drive, which removes the "lift and dive" normally associated with shaft drive.

V11 Le Mans. A Name, a Destiny.

Endless racing marathons, nights in the seat with alternating drivers at the helm...the same mythology of speed and passion for motorcycles, forever linked to the many previous models that have excited the imagination of entire generations of fans of the "Eagle of Mandello"

.In 2001, the very sporty V11 invokes the legend again, in a version destined to make history,

The new Le Mans was born out of the need for performance with greater high-speed riding comfort. With this model, the performance remains intact; but the horizons of the driver are expanded.

There is a greater overall comfort, thanks in part to the aerodynamic protection of a half fairing. The traditional Moto Guzzi character and looks remain, but with greater range for longer trips in style and comfort.

In particular, the engineers at Moto Guzzi have worked to increase stability, with a meticulous tuning of the bike's steering and suspension. In the V11 Le Mans, aerodynamic disturbances do not influence motorcycle performance, affording the driver greater control.

Its sporty spirit does not spare a single ounce of comfort.

The design and color scheme of the V11 Le Mans are also new and impressive--the elegant black color of its motor and the front-end forks, the shining class of the "Crystal Cuvee" or racy looks of the "Le Mans Red"
