BOLOGNESE

MANUFACTURERS OF

MOTORCYCLES, 1904-

1960

The “Moto Bolognesi”

project has made it possible

to survey and study 98

manufacturers of fnished

motorcycles active between

1904 and 1960 in Bologna

and its territory, including

some particular cases of

frms based elsewhere but

with deep roots with the

city, using local expertise

for design and construction.

This was done through

the collection of various

types of documentation,

books and magazines

in the sector, company

catalogues and brochures,

photographs, from private

and public archives.

The map which locates

the headquarters of these

frms in the urban fabric

draws attention to the

extraordinary nature of this

numerical concentration,

also providing information

and images for each of

them.
